A view of the crowds and the slope that riders and horses must get up and over in the annual Tado Shinto Horse Festival.
In this festival, horses are ridden up a very steep slope. If they make it over, then it is said to be a good omen for the rice harvest later in the year. Conversely, if the horses fail, then it is said that the crops may fail.
